FilmBloom Support

Turn your smartphone into a professional film scanner

Getting Started

FilmBloom helps you digitize your film negatives, black & white film, and slides using just your smartphone. Here's how to get the best results:

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do my color negatives look orange?

Color negative film has an orange mask that needs to be removed during processing. Make sure you've selected a "Color Negative" preset, which automatically removes the orange cast and inverts the colors.

How do I scan multiple frames at once?

Use the "Find Frame" feature to automatically detect frame boundaries. For film strips, the app can detect multiple frames and let you batch export them all at once.

What film formats are supported?

FilmBloom supports 35mm (standard and half-frame), medium format (6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7, 6x9), and large format (4x5, 8x10). You can also use a free aspect ratio for non-standard formats.

Where are my edited photos saved?

When you tap "Save", photos are saved directly to your device's photo library. You can find them in the Photos app.

Can I undo my edits?

Yes! FilmBloom keeps a 50-step undo/redo history. Use the undo button to step back through your edits. You can also long-press on the image to see a before/after comparison.

The app is asking for camera/photo permissions. Why?

FilmBloom needs camera access to capture film images and photo library access to save your digitized photos. All processing happens locally on your device - your photos are never uploaded to external servers.
